Countless professional teams depend on the Erchonia Cold Laser for quick recovery, like the New York Jets, England Patriots, Philadelphia 76ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League, United States Postal Service cycling team, just to name a few. Unlike high power lasers that use heat to cut or cauterize tissue, low energy cold lasers enhance biochemical reactions in the targeted tissue. In somewhat simple terms, visible light is directed to a specific area.

The light energy passes through the skin, and is received within the cell membrane by special energy photo acceptors. The increase in intra-cellular energy results in altered cell membrane permeability, and physiological changes occur through an enzyme cascade to affect several biological processes. Within the injured musculoskeletal tissue, low level laser light starts an increase in microcirculation and enhanced tissue regeneration. The overall effects are decreased pain and inflammation, and increased mobility. Cold lasers have been in use for over 25 years, with over 2000 published research studies, without one recorded side effect. But Erchonia Lasers made history by becoming the first to receive FDA approval for chronic pain treatment. Dr. Langford uses Laser Therapy as part of his RapidRelief treatment protocol to provide his patients with dramatic pain relief associated with:

How Does Laser Therapy Work?

Healing is essentially a cellular process. Low Level Laser Therapy stimulates the cell activation process, which initiates a cascade of reactions, from the cell membrane to the cytoplasm, to the nucleus and DNS. This is called cellular amplification, whose demonstration earned the Nobel Prize in 1994. There are many biological processes that take place in tissues that have been shown to respond to Low Level Laser Therapy in the 630-640 nanometer wavelength ranges. One of these processes is the enhancement of ATP production in the mitochondria, which provides more energy substrate for cellular healing and tissue recovery post injury. This wavelength has also been shown to decrease inflammation in wounds and increase endogenous endorphin release. The Erchonia LLLT provides the optimum 635 nm wavelength to stimulate cells to function better, delivered at very low energy (2-4 mill Watts). If the stimulation is too intense, there may be an inhibitory effect, or possible degeneration or destruction of cells.

What to Expect with Laser Treatment

The Erchonia laser’s first FDA approval was obtained for the management of neck and back pain. In clinical work, patient’s stiffness and tightness greatly decreases after treatment. Treatments take just a couple of minutes and may be performed through clothing. There is often no sensation during treatment, some patients report mild tingling. The number of treatments depends on the problem being addressed and may be as little as one and as many as twenty spread over several months.

Typically, an improvement of 30 – 50% occurs with just one treatment.
